  2. Weather in the Gulf? Like the hurricane that may hit New Orleans? And the evacuation of some oil platforms there.  World issues like Russia and Georgia.

  5. There might be none at all. Much of it is based on speculation and you never know what speculators are thinking. Never. Even the slightest rumor of unrest in a region of the world or an approaching hurricane could drive the price of oil sky high. Nobody knows what drives up the price of oil nowdays. Only speculators know. The price of oil has a lot less to do with supply and demand than most folks think.
