  1. almost nothing ...

the problem is very few of the moves towards environmental management are workable... as an example conservation of the forests.. it is easy for the developed countries to tell underdeveloped countries you need to stop cutting down your forests and preserve the earth for future generations... after all the countries saying that have all already cut down all the forests they NEED for cities roads and factories...

saying that all countries have to reduce greenhouse emissions is GREAT... but the lower tech countries don't have the ability to limit emissions as they build up.. so they can't sign off on it...

if the low tech countries don't sign off the big countries can't afford to...

the EU didn't believe the US when we said keyoto won't work.. all you will do is move YOUR greenhouse emissions to china; and that is NOT helping the planet just making you feel good.

now China is the number 1 emitter of greenhouse gasses in the world.

so the bottom line is that environmental management although it sounds nice and good is not an easy topic to handle.. how do you tell a starving nation stop cutting down trees to build farms?

  2. One of the best international actions towards environmental management, was the KYOTO PROTOCOL , it is a legally binding agreement between signed-up countries to meet emissions reduction targets of all greenhouse gases by 2012. So, countries, as USA  has not ratified the treaty ,Japan  and Russia opposed it. Was a great  international effort.  See the document: http://unfccc.int/resource/docs/convkp/k...

  3. SO FAR AS WE CAN TELL BY NEWS REPORTS ALL TALKS OF CLIMATE CHANGE IN A BUILDING

  4. Too much talk, and not enough action. . . It all boils down to the people that are trying to do good versus the ones causing them to fail in order to keep their positions of power. . . ohhh, and let's not forget the almighty dollar :)

    Great, but sad question :)
