  2. Swimming is governed by an international organization called FINA. Here is a link to the rules on the FINA website:

  3. Wait 30 minutes after you eat to go swimming.

  4. Check the Website

    http://www.sportslaw.nl/documents/cms_sp...

    http://www.sta.co.uk/docs/ISWSSresource/...

  5. Pool competition: Well you must be able to do each stroke correctly, 2 hand touches on breast and fly, there are a lot....it would take all day to tell you...check http://usaswimming.org/USASWeb/DesktopDe...

U.S. rules are about 100% the same as international rules.

Open Water Competition:  Here you can get yellow cards and red cards.  One yellow card is a warning and a second is an automatic red card which means your out of the race.  Red cards are normally given for intentional foul play during the race.  Yellow cards are for sometimes intentional but doesn't hinder the other swimmer.  check http://www.usaswimming.org/usasweb/_Rain...

Not sure if this answers your question, it was kind of a broad one.

  6. No Running, Shouting or Peeing in the Shallow End.
