What are the issues involved with buying a revolver at a gun show out of state?

How does this work? Does the seller at the gun show send it to a dealer in my state? Or do I have to get a dealer in that state to send it to a dealer in my state?

  1. Most states allow you to make gun purchases in consecutive bordering states as long as it is legal for you to own that gun in your state.

  2. If you go to the show, you can buy it there and take it home, as long as you pass the background check. If the gun is to be shipped, it needs to be shipped to a local gun shop or pawn shop that has a FFL license. You need to arrange that with your local dealer, and most of them charge you between $20 and $50. Talk to the dealer that owns the gun, and he can tell you what needs to be done. It's in his best interest to follow the rules.
