  1. Some say, like the father of the Internet, that if temperatures rise too high the ice and glaciers will melt and the world's shorelines will come up several feet and we will be in for disaster.

    However, as many doomsdayers are claiming GW, there are other respected scientists who say that we are in the normal range for temperatures to move up and down. And if we are in a warming position - why did we just have 9 people die in America from the Snowstorm last month?

    And what about that father of the Internet - who has a 9,000 sq ft house that uses 10 times the energy of a house for a normal family of 4.

    And speaking of population - could that be a cause?

    1800 = 900 million people

    1900 = 1.6 billion

    2000 = 6 billion

    2005 = 6.5 BILLION PEOPLE

    nah - must be some other inconvenient truth

    best of luck on your paper -

  2. wow Global warning! i dont know where to start!

    Global warming means that the temperature of the earth is rising. If you want to know more about global warming later watch " inconvient truth by Al Gore"

  3. Global Warming is a build up of gasses mainly CO2 that's located in the Stratosphere. This allows sunlight to enter the Earths atmosphere but when the sunlight reflects off Earths surface, it cannot escape, causing what is known as the green house effect.

    Actually, we need the green house effect to survive but because of the technology we use today and all the fuel we burn up, we are adding more CO2 than needed.

  4. Well the theory is that becuase of a buildup of greenhouse gasses (carbon dioxide co2) it has created a blanket of gasses at the top of our atmousphere. This blanket lets the suns rays enter, but doesnt allow the reflective rays to exit therefor creating a "greenhouse effect" which creates more heat than would have otherwise.

    This warming is causing the glaciers in Antarctica to melt and add fresh cold water into the ocean. It is speculated that this large influx of fresh water can actually change the current oceanic streams creating very strange and abnormal weather patter otherwise know as "Climate Change". It is also speculated that the melting of the icecaps will cause the sealevel to rise in all coastal areas of the world up to 30 somthing inches.

    There you go... I think that is a good "in a nutshell" description.

  5. The 'issues' could be wide ranging.  Have a look at some info I've put on a website, this may help you.  You have my permission to quote from the text...

  6. 1. Is the temperature of the oceans increasing?

    [Most agree it is but some disagree by how much]

    2. What is heating the oceans? The atmosphere.

    3.  Why? Heat from the sun heats the earth but the earth radiation heat is blocked by the Carbon Dioxide and the Water Vapor in the atmosphere.

    4. What put the CO2 in the air? Since 1850, most of it by burning coal and oil.

    5. Is there a way to clean the CO2 out of the air? Yes, but it may take 20 years to develop a system that is practical, some doubt it will ever be worthwhile to do because it may require a lot of energy to do, which would put more CO2 in the air.

    6. Why is this a problem now? Initially, the oceans and the soil were able to absorb the CO2, both are now full and all the emission of CO2 go into the air.
