For my Technology GCSE I am making a educational toy for young children. As my target market is 0-4 year olds I need to know what the issues are with toxic paint. Can anyone offer me any advice, or a suitable product to use which is avaliable in the UK

  2. Basically, toxic paint is poisonous, and should not be used in anything you are going to give to children. The biggest problem is usually lead, which although banned, quite often reaches the market on toys made in the far east, especially China, as witnessed in the recent Mattel scares. When it is found, you usually hear about it in the news, and the toys concerned are usually withdrawn from sale. Prolonged exposure to lead can lead to brain disorders.
