  1. I fully agree with Evan's answer.

  2. Gold, silver, and bronze.  Gold were the Philosophers, the highest in his Republic.  Silver were like the merchants, educated people, middle class, basically.  The bronze were the working class that made this all possible.  The silver and bronze were mostly for the purpose of making it possible for the Gold to Philosophize endlessly rather than work.

  3. Aristotle doesn't say that there are different kinds of souls, per se. According to De Anima, every living thing has a soul (people, dogs, plants, etc). The only difference is the level of complexity on which they operate. Aristotle was all about function when it comes to this stuff. Aristotle determined that the functions of the soul were (basically) growth and nutrition, locomotion, perception, and thought. He separated these into operations corresponding to three different "degrees" of soul: nutritive (growth and nutrition), sensitive (perceptions and locomotion), and rational (thought). Only humans souls can be described as all three, because they possess rational intellect. Animals' souls have only the first two, while plants' only the first. So it doesn't really mean that there are different "kinds" of souls, but rather there are different degrees to which the soul functions within living things.

    Hope that makes sense.

  4. I think what our potential is and what we actually are...but to know for sure look at the link below.
