What are the laws against email harassment?

I know a person that is really upset by these emails that she receives from this person. I was wanting to know what I could tell her to do to help her.

  2. if it is a yahoo account,you can contact yahoo and they tell you what to do,there is a way to find out from what part of the world the email is from..but the best thing is to just change her email..

  6. The only internet laws I'm aware of involve sexual solicitation and blackmail.

    It seems more likely that your friend is being plagued by the common troll, and by reacting she is losing.  Best course is to block/ignore the troll, or to create a new email address.

    Many areas do not have specific laws that cover email harassment, or cyberstalking. However, in most areas, previously existing laws covering stalking are often applicable to cyberstalking.   10. try to get the name of the sender, then print out traanscripts of the emails and file a police report agaisnt the person ♥

    She could contact the internet provider through which the emails are being sent, and there's a good chance they'll cancel the service.

    Or...get a new email address through yahoo or hotmail, and dont tell the harasser about it....

    Or, hire a lawyer....like I said, harassment is harassment.
