here there is a whole list of protected trees and you can go to jail or pay heavy fines if you log any of those ,this is Mexico

In the Netherlands you need a government permit if you want to cut a tree in your own garden

in Japan you cannot cut down a tree that is older than you

and in Asian countries ,or in Mexico for a few bucks , you can do what you like

you cannot expect people to answer you if you refuse to say where you are
