I will be getting married in Morocco this june. My fiance and I were wondering if there were any restrictions on them allowing him inside my Canadian Embassy in Rabat as we prepare our paperwork. Will he have to wait outside? Or is he allowed to be with me?

Does anyone know the regulations on entering a foreign embassy?

  1. I am assuming you are Canadian and you are filling out paperwork so your fiance can return to Canada with you.

If that is the case, they will most likely let him come in with you while you are filling out the paperwork, although there is no overarching rule that is for all embassies in all nations.

The best way is to ask them - their contact information is here:

  2. Under international law, the embassy compound is sovereign ground to the country it represents.  It even has diplomatic immunity to bring in people, goods and services that are illegal to that country barring a national security risk.  Thus, you need to get in touch with that specific embassy and see what their policy is concerning this matter.
