What are the laws for Skateboarding in California?

Question

I'm looking for more than just helmet laws, more like where you can ride them. I see people riding them on the sidewalk, but I don't know if it's legal or not. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanx.

do a search for CA's general laws for boarding. often though, skateboarding is regulated at the local level. that's the case here in MA, so check with town hall. also check with your local shop, they're probably up on the local rules and regs. if not, shame on them..
