Hiya,

I'm looking for a Saturday job and have a few questions regarding what I legally can and can't do. Please help me out with the following:

1. How many hours can I work per day/week?

2. Is there a minimum wage?

3. Do I necessarily need a work permit? (I have been a British citizen my whole life)

4. WHERE CAN I GET A JOB?!!!!!

...yes, I'm getting desperate. Please help me!

Thanks in advance,

  2. The youngest you can get a part time job is 13.

But between the ages of 13 and 16 you are resticted to a MAXIMUM of 10 hours each week.

13 and 14 year olds can only do a MAXIMUM of 3 hours a week, between 7 am and 7pm Monday to Friday.  NONE on Saturday or Sunday.

It is more flexible when you are 15 and 16, as you can do 7 hours over the weekends.

The minimum wage comes into force when you are 16 and have left Education.

Some employers just ask to see your Birth Certificate.  Just before you turn 16 you will be sent a National Insurance Number, which is the equivalent of other countries work permits.

Go into places that interest you and ask them if they are looking for part time staff.
