There is no point in law in South Africa if there are no police to enforce them. The Scorpions was set up in 1999 to fight organised crime and corruption and works separately from the police. But they are no longer in working progress. So the only good crime fighters that actually did anything have been banned!

We have a very wide variety of laws and the best Labour Laws in the world. Some workers are protected 100%. There are too many Acts to mention here, thousands of Acts. We have one of the best Justice systems in the world just a pity we have very few people that enforce the law.

It is a cruel joke.

But South Africa has the best laws in the world. And no credible police force to enforce them.

If you look at the SA constitution, it is a blueprint for the most enlightened state imaginable. However, the constitution is completely meaningless when you have chaos and violence in the streets (as well as corruption in the halls of power). Until South Africa seriously tackles its crime-related demons, the promise enshrined in the constitution is a distant mirage.
