Kinda a weird question, I know. But I was just wondering if there were any laws of alchemy that you must abide by, like say "You cannot transmute humans" or something

  1. i always wanted to be a alchemyst............

  2. what are the laws of fantasy....they're the same...

  3. Alchemy is a language of symbols. The most widely accepted text is the Emerald Tablet of Hermes Trismegistus, the thricefold magus. The truest words upon the tablet I take as my own motto and might work well for your story - "As above, so below. As below, so above."

A basic interpretation of this - one that will work for you - is that everything is repeated both upon the microcosm and the macrocosm, the large and small things will mirror one another. There are no rules to alchemy, it is a search for understanding by the individual.

  4. only one "it can't be done".  Alchemy is no science and therefore it has no laws, some may claim rules but they are entirely contrived
