Employment: if you find an employer willing to sponsor your HB-1 visa that employer can also sponsor your adjustment of status to a permanent resident.

Relative Petition: An immediate family member (mom, dad, brother, sister, child) can file a petition for permanent residency on your behalf

Marriage: if you marry a US citizen or permanent resident they can petition for your permanent residence in the US, a permanent resident marriage would take several years, marriage to a US citizen will be much shorter, if you plan to marry here your K-1 visa will be processed in about 3 months, if you marry there it will take a few more months

Well like the other people said in there response but when you become an american resident you must not stay out of the country for more than 3 months. I'm a born JAmaican and an American Resident and it really sucks cause if you stay down there for longer then america has the right to not u back into there country. :(
