What are the laws on nitro kits? (california)?

My boyfriend says it's legal to have the hoses detached and just say it's for looks (but of course attach it to race :D what the cops don't know won't hurt em)

is it illegal to have a detached nitro kit in your car?

Nitrous Oxide not Nitro are Legal! Don't confuse Nitromethane that is used in NHRA/AHRA Top Fuel and Funny Cars. It is not the same thing.

I think its legal to install NOS on your car but illegal to use it on public roads.  Could use it on private property or race track if allowed.  Good luck with the NOS that stuff even though dangerous can really increase your horsepower.
