What are the laws on the front and back turn signal colors?

i recently bought new clear housing for my car. to replace the factory orange ones and i was wandering if they have to light up with orange light or can they just be white light? i live in ohio

The only white light that can be on is the tag light and back up lights when the car is in reverse. You Will have to get bulbs that are the right color.

Front turn signals..........amber.

Rear turn signals...........red or amber.

The way the law reads is this.............you can have clear lens covers as long as they have the correct colored bulbs as stated above however the lens covers "MUST" be stamped with the "DOT" name for them to be legal.

But remember that the code is visible from the outside and the police officer can see this.
