I purchased 16.3 gallons of full which turned out to be water contaminated. The cost of purging the car's fuel tanks is $700 plus the $60 for the gas itself. Is the service station liable?

  1. Of course!

They have to put you back in the position you would have been in had they not sold you the contaminated fuel. Which in your case is to replace that $760.

  2. I'd like to know this too.   Had the same thing happen to me and just because of that I only buy gas at certain stations now.  I will hold out as long as possible so it doesn't happen again.  I think they should be liable since they OBVIOUSLY have had the complaint from somoeone else other than you or do none of the managers/workers happen to buy gas there?!
