The size of the data group

for example

if you only have a test group of 10 subjects, you cannot accurately reflect how many people in society will develop cancer based on those 10 test subjects.  Larger sample groups are always better, the more in your sample the better it will reflect society.

The range/area of the data group

you cannot base statistical finding for the general population for a sample group all taken in 1 location, the data you collect from that one area can be affected by their surroundings (growing up next to Hanford)
