  1. http://www.golfspyder.com/golf-club-loft...

    This explains..

  2. the higher the loft the easier it is to keep in play . the day of 7 to 9 degree drivers are gone go with 10.5 most importantly right shaft flex .

  3. They are the pitch of the angle on the head of the club.  The head of the club is not completely flat.  You wouldn't get any lift if it was completely flat.  Instead, the flat part of the head is pitched at different angles.  The different numbers are the different degrees of pitch.  The 9.5 is the largest pitch allowable by the PGA.

  4. the amount of angle above 90 degrees from the face to the ground. a 7.5 degree club lies at an angle of 97.5 degrees from flat. All lofts are the same equation all the way through your wedges

  5. the lower the number the lower the ball flight is.....unless there is an awkward swing put into it......beginners usually start with 10.5 and pros are down around 8.0-9.0

  6. the loft on a driver represents the angle from an upright position going downward. The more loft on a club the shorter the ball goes and easier it is to hit. For example a lob wedge has 60 degrees and it goes the shortest and can be the easiest club to hit.

Drivers for high handicappers are usually from 10+ this will give the golfer good control and its easier to get it in the air. However if you pop it up chances are changing the loft down will not fix your problems its your swing.

However, if your a low handicapper and you hit it high or you hit solid shots then you you shold go with  9.5 or lower. The lower the loft the harder it is to hit. but if you can put a solid swing on the ball and you can hit a 7 degree driver solid, then of course it will go further!

  7. the angle of the head of the club

  8. Lofts are the angle of the ball launched in the air.

If you are a person who can hit the ball hard and get it up in the air fast, you might want 9 degrees and lower.

If you are not a skilled person, you might want the ball to go higher. so I recommend 10.5 and up.
