I put salsa in almost everything I eat, I love the flaming sensation in my tongue, I never get any stomachaches or anything but people tell me it will eventually burn my stomach. So, are there any long term damage for eating too much spicy food and salsas?

  1. There are countries where all they eat are spicy foods so don't sweat it.

  2. Too much and really overdoing it can result in liver damage.

It doesn't affect my love of spicy foods.

    Kia ora.

  3. The first answer is completly wrong and he is misinformed. You WILL NOT get liver damage from eating spicy foods. The liver filters toxins from the body and although salsa is spicy it is not a toxin to the body.

Also, it is true that spicy foods actually does raise metabolism and burn a few extra calories in the process. Think of this as well...what some people can't even detect others will taste spiciness.

  4. I love spicy food.  I heard it was an advantage to eat spicy food, helps keep your system clean and you burn more calories when you get spicy food.
