Someone told me that if you have plastic surgery that ideally 10-20yrs later scar tissue builds up around the area you had plastic surgery and your skin will sag. They said that your skin grafts to a certain structure and that overtime there is an excess of scar tissue which makes you look weird. Is that true?

What are the long term bad effects of plastic surgery? Are they common? At what rate do they occur?

  1. I've seen old pt with breast augmentations.  Women in their 60s+.  Put it this way, as you get older you loose collagen and elastin in your skin.  This makes your skin thinner.  It is going to happen no matter what.  So you have thin skin and loose skin because of the elastin lost (?).  Your skin is sort of slides around (not loosely but you do notice it) on your bones.  So image you have 2 balls underneath a sheet.  That is what it looks like to me.  Out of place and just odd.  I am sure that it look great when the person was young and had some fat to the skin, but now. NO.
