What are the longest and shortest gaps between a new constructor winning in F1?

Last Sunday, BMW/Sauber became the first new team to win since Stewart...a gap of 8 years, 8 months and 12 days. That, however, is not the record longest gap.

  1. Jody Sketcher winning Wolfs debut race at Argentinia GP 1977.

    Then Bennettons Gehard Berger winning the Mexican GP in 1986 a gap of 11 years 173 days?...


  2. 2nd shortest is the gap between McLaren and Matra in 1968.

    McLaren won the Belgian GP 9th June, Matra won the Dutch on 23rd June making a 14 day gap.

    The shortest gap is between Renault and Williams in 1979.

    Renault won the French GP 1st July then Williams won the British GP on the 14th making a gap of 13 days.
