In southern France, most of the grapes produced are used in making wine being of high quality that come from several regions. In the Mediterranean region, grapes are used for cheaper wines. Other important crops of the country are apple, potatoes, sugar beet, while livestock-feed crops are barley, maize, oats, and rape-seed, etc. The other important crops are beans, carrots, cauliflower, cherries, flowers, peas, peaches, pears, sunflower seeds, and tomatoes.
