  1. most pre 1800 ships most fighting sailing ships were Frigates they capt Quarters were aft in the stern the crew would sleep forward and the layout would be to rank as to had the better quarters, all basic design was about the same starting from the keel up to the upper deck to the boat deck ,pop deck forward deck mast on a frigate would be 3 with a rear mizzen mast

  2. http://nhseacadet.mainstream.net/parts_o... for detailed

    Bow is front

    Stern is back

    Hull is the body

Mast is what holds the sail upright

Boom is what holds the sail horizonally

Bird's Nest is where a pirate would use a telescope to spot things

Quaters is where pirates would sleep

p**p deck is where pirates would fire cannons, trim sails, walk

Like I said, click the link for more specific info

  3. Most generally me lass, is the at the crew does bunk in the focs'l (or forecastle to land lubbers" (that be forward, near where the anchor chain would be a comin' in, and aye, the capt'n would be aft.  the officers bunk amidships.

And, just for general information, very little sleep was had by anyone until they arrived in port.

  4. The man part of a pirate ship/boat is pirates!!! And they sleep in quarters.
