  1. If the don't fit well they might get stuck when trying to extend or retract them.

  2. Their primary purpose is to increase the wing area so that the wing generates enough lift to keep the aircraft flying at slower speeds. They also generate drag which slows the aircraft.

  3. Increases lift.

  4. Flaps reduce the stalling speed by increasing the camber of the wing and thereby increasing the maximum lift coefficient.

  5. 1- increase surface area thus plane can fly slower

2- act as brakes slowing down the airplane

  6. Hey mate.

    1. to create wind resistance over the flap of the wing the pressure differential and direction causes to plane to yaw in  direction.

2.a steeper incline on the flap causes greater wind resistance  if the resistane is symetrical on both sides of the plane wings it will rise or fall depending on the direction of the flap.when both wings and both flaps all open the wind resistane pressure is equal and causes the plane to "air brake"

  7. There are two main reasons for fitting flaps to aircraft:-

    1. To increase wing area to provide extra lift for take off.

    2. To increase drag to to slow the aircraft whilst descending to land.

  8. We fit them to the wings so the don't fall off. Bolting the carriage assemblies to the wing rib fittings, attaching the jack-screws with the correct hardware, etc. A loose one could bugger someone's day quite badly.
