  1. have you ever watched the news?

  2. Gee. maybe because of the rise in the global oil price?

  3. Because of the fact they use fossil fuels and we are running low on them.

Because using cars is bad for the enviroment.

    Because of the government

    hope it helps =)

  4. It's a global problem. The UK does have a high level of duty on fuel which doesn't help though.

Many countries have a rising demand for fuel. For example, China has a rapidly increasing number of cars on the road.

OPEC controls the amount of oil which is extracted in the world's major oil fields. They recently decided not to increase the rate at which oil is being pumped, despite the rising demand. Hence, the inflated prices we are currently having to pay.

It comes down to the old law of supply and demand.

  5. Well, first there is the taxes. One of the main reason the UK petrol price are high is due to the amazingly high taxes you pay on them.

Also there is a lot of turmoil in the Middle East. Since the oil drilled in the North Sea is not sufficient to satisfy the needs of England, the best bet for the UK is to go for alternative fuels.

(Ignore the people who are being rude, that was a great question.)
