What are the main stakes races at saratoga race track each year? each year?

i live just south of saratoga and we go there alot. i know there are a bunch of grade 1 2 and breeders cup races there. the only ones i can think of is the travers and jim dandy what are the others?

  1. Cooch's link is very helpful.  I would say the Travers and the Whitney are the two most storied races of the bunch, but really all the racing at Saratoga is amazing.

    But I do want to add that all of the races should be good ones even if it is a claiming race. .

Outside the track there are these jockey statues who hold the names of Saratoga's major races and last year's winners(I included a picture below).  The ones I can think of are The Travers, The King's Bishop, The Whitney, The Alabama, The Go for Wand, and the Hopeful.  I'm sure there are others too.  Why don't you look at Saratoga's racing schedule.

  5. The Travers is most known.It is also the oldest stakes race in the US.run annually since 1864.The Whitney is also a well known Grade 1 stakes
