  1. The #1 cause of accidents is not watching or seeing the road because of distractions.  People who get distracted by radios, phones, food, etc.  normally get in car accidents. That is why car companies are making features that alarm you when you don't pay attention. If you turn your head away form the front of the car when a car is in front of you, the car will alarm you (Lexus LS600h). Other new cars alarm (beeping, etc.) you when you leave your lane on the highway.

  2. Most accidents are caused by a car changing direction. That includes left and right turns and lane changes.

  3. idiot drivers

  4. If you look at insurance company' chart for accident rates, the ages 16-24 has the MOST accidents.

So you have to attribute inexperience as the MAJOR reason for accidents.  The rest are inconsequential.

    Good Luck...

  5. There are only two causes of road collisions. They are drver error and mechanical failure.

  6. Alcohol & Drunk Driving

    Speeding

    Weather Related

    Hydroplaning

    Animals in Road

    Street Racing

    Cell Phones

    Music, CD Players, Radio Distractions

    Driver Fatigue

    Suicide Car Accidents

  7. Poor drivers training. It's to easy to get a license in the US And they hand them out way to early 15 and 16 is just to young.
