  1. The major consequences of climate change:

More rain here, less rain there, glaciers advance and retreat. Storms get more or less frequent and more or less intense.

Climate change always has an immediate effect on agriculture and availability of drinking water. Places that dry out get politically unstable and wars start. Ethiopia is a good example. Less rain usually has more negative effect than places that wind up getting more rain though places that get more severe weather usually aren't prepared for disaster.

So climate change effects the ecology, the food and water supply, the economy, and ultimately the political situation. As has occured throughout human history.

ignore 'willow's link, its written by an architect trying to punt out a self-published book lol!

willow you know its bullsh*ite. you claim to be british, so i suppose i am embarrassed a countrywoman is pedalling this disinformation. i cant blame it on the american education system, so i have to assume you are doing it maliciously.

mind you, maybe i should give you the benefit of the doubt, someone who is 'fascinated by the paranormal' is obviously rather gullible.

  3. Some gases ("greenhouse gases") let sunlight in, which warms the Earth, and then block that heat from leaving. That's the "greenhouse effect", and it's a natural thing, mostly caused by water vapor.

Man is making excessive amounts of greenhouse gases, mostly by burning fossil fuels. That causes the delicate natural balance to go out of whack and the Earth warms. That's global warming.

It won't be a Hollywood movie style disaster. Gradually coastal areas will flood and agriculture will be damaged. But it will be very bad. Rich countries will cope, but it will take huge amounts of money. In poor countries many people will die of starvation, but not all of them.

Most scientists say, in 20-50 years. But we need to start right now to fix it, fixing it will take even longer than that.

Really good website for more information here:

Lots of numerical scientific data proving it real here:

Proof that most scientists think it's real and mostly caused by us here:

  4. You could have a cyclone that kills 22,000 people!

  5. check some articles in this out http://www.iceagenow.com

Littlerobber is so very childish! the link above is a website full of reports written by scientists.

There are many things in Britain to be embarrassed about, but i think being embarrassed about a fellow citizens opinions and interests is quite shallow, you are also very judgemental. BTW how old are you?

  6. Climate change due to global warming will increase the average temperature of the earth's atmosphere and oceans by a few degrees.

    Consequences:

    - Rise in sea level which will submerge many coastal areas including Manhattan, London, Shanghai, Calcutta.

Complete flooding of many islands like Maldives.

-Increase in extreme weather: severe storms (stronger than Katrina) and also droughts which will last longer.

-These weather extremes can cause food shortages and starvation of millions of people and extinction of several species of wildlife.

-This will lead to more riots and extremism/terrorism in the world.

(you might have heard of rice shortage causing riots and fall of governments already in many places around the world right now).
