  1. Best analysis, Cassandra Nathan's Save America, Save the World book.

    Hitting a few high points:

Hospitals overcharge the uninsured--3-5 times what the insured pay.

Supposed non-profit hospitals and non-profit insurers overcharge dramatically and reap large profits in MANY cases. Oddly, some of the border hospitals and community hospitals can have to close departments or shut down because of the ridiculous quantity of illegals who DO get free health care. A US citizen will be hounded into bankruptcy, but an illegal gets a pass. Part of that is the assinine "compassionate entry" the Border Patrol is instructed to tolerate--let those who are ill in for treatment, full well knowing whoever gets stuck with them eats that bill as they go off for free.

Antitrust laws are ROUTINELY violated in the US by hospitals and insurers.

Contract law is frequently violated with impunity--insurers LIE and say they cover things and don't. Hospitals won't reveal charges up front. There is no price transparency out there.

Fraud is more widespread than anyone wants to admit.

The list goes on and the UHC cry won't work because it just feeds insurers MORE money.

Plan that would work is in the book and you can see bulk of it here:
