What are the major failings of oedipus in the play oedipus the king?

I read it....i just need help to understand it.

A major failing/ Tragic Flaw of a Tragic hero is what causes that hero's downfall. So the question you need to answer for yourself and I would imagine for your homework is: "What flaw in the character of Oedipus led to his destruction?"

If you truly have read the script then you should know what happened and if you know what happened and why (also in the script) and apply just a bit of your own brainpower you should be able to answer the question for yourself.
