What are the major problems about living in Ireland?

I've heard of the religious conflicts... how dramatic is that?

I'm mormon... would I run into any of these?

What about anything else? What other major problems may I face if I decide to live there? I'm from the U.S.

  1. Religious conflict is only in the Northern county under english rules. In the rest of the Island, the Republic, everything is peacefull.

The main drawback of living in the ROI (Republic of Ireland) is the cost of living. It's awfully expensive to live here trust me.

Other than that, one you get past the weather...  it's fine.

As for Mormons I see some frequently in the neigbourhood. I believe thew Mormon temple is not far from here in Dublin 15, Clonsilla ( Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter Day Saints, am I correct ? if not apologies)

  2. Mormon No its more a sectarian thing between british loyalist and irish republicans the only thing u need to worry about is chavs (A.K.A Skangers, Skeets, Ned's [non-educated delinquents] ...) steer clear of em and ur grand oh and a little gaelic wont go a miss

  3. You are thinking of Northern Ireland - a different country and part of the UK. There are no issues with religious conflict in the Republic of Ireland. The problems you would face would be similar to those in the US - rising house prices and cost of living, mediocre public tansport, hospital waiting lists.. that kind of thing.

I'm not a morman but have met many mormans and I regularly see mormans going door to door here. I wouldn't be concerned about being a morman at all.

  4. the religious conflict u mention is only in northern ireland and only between catholic and prodestant ppl.generally in the republic theres not much of that sort of thing.the price of living is high and the crime rate in some parts of dublin and limerick are bad.other than that it is a great place to live.

  5. There are no religious conflicts in Eire, which is where you are talking about I believe. Mostly catholics, but the Irish could care less about your religion. Just don't try to convert anyone. I suggest you do at the very least some research on the place as you seem to be clueless.

  6. There are no religious conflicts in Ireland.  The conflict in Northern Ireland is between those who want it to remain part of the UK, and those who don't.  As someone from the US, you won't enter into this argument.  As for being a Mormon, I doubt that will matter to anyone

  7. no problems here in Ireland there is a Mormon church in glassnevin dublin

  8. Housing prices have to be the worst.

There are mormons here but different religious groups tend to stay to their own kind,
