  1. It's important to know how to pay your bills and balance your checkbook, how to sew on a button, how to wash your clothes and fold them, how to use a stove and a microwave, when and how to clean your surroundings, hygiene, how to use local transportation and/or drive, basic nutrition, basic safety/protection skills - what to be wary of, use of smoke-detectors, home fires, ladders, credit cards, etc., how to hammer a nail, proper use of cleaning products (don't mix ammonia & Clorox, etc.), basic etiquette, how to use local services such as the library, fire and police department, banks, how to dress for different occasions and weather, basic first-aid, time management.

  2. Basic survival skills, like foraging, making a shelter, putting out a fire and how to avoid them in your home etc. A martial art is always good, or a defense class. Driving is not a mandatory skill. Others would include people skills, which are needed to secure a good job and work your way up in the ranks to become financially independent (which is another semi mandatory).

Basic health knowledge as well, such as vitamins and an idea of what the body needs to grow right and sustain a good life and how to save yourself if you're choking ect.

  3. CPR.. Might save a life one day!
