  1. if they are in a field they are gas pipe markers


  2. gas main indicators usally spotted from above by helicopters

  3. I have heard they are markers for pipelines and such and can be seen from the air ( for tracking purposes ) dunno if its true though !

  4. Without seeing one, I would suggest that you mean "Holiday Route" or "HR" markers.

    HR markers are a Orange/Yellow Diamond on direction sign posts.
