What are the materials to build the Susan Constant [a ship]?

i'm building a small model of the susan constant and i tried looking for the materials...and so far i gotresin, wood, teak, riggand, and sails....but i think there's more so help?

  1. I think you have most of what you need for a model. I do know in a large ship Bronze screws and/or nails are used. I assume for a model the resin will also be you glue for your hull. Ships also carry Ballast in the keel, usually in the form of Lead, Steel, Concrete, Rocks etc. For a model I may use a Lead Tire Weight for a car. My reason for this would be, when it picked up, a person would feel the Balance that would normally be in a full scale ship. Some exterior house paint if you going to paint it. Also, they make these small C-Clamps for model building that are good, where I live they hard to find and I bought some 1" clamps at a store similar to "Harbor Freight". The clamps will hold your hull lines until the resin sets. This about all I can think of off hand.
