  1. Well the one thing I know that is offered is a govt subsidized birth control pill.  A packet costs about 10 rupees.  Other brands are generally about 10 times as much.


  2. They have a family planning department. Which spreads awareness about this fact. They also distribute contraceptices at subsidised rates or even free of charge

    Asker's question: India is not THAT over-populated but some measures are being taken by the government to make people aware of the consequences that this may have in the future.

  4. The government is doing simply nothing. They only want votes to stay in power & thus there are some instances where some ministers of many political parties formed for Hindus encourage Hindus to have a large family so that they vote for them & their selfish interests are guarded. The national interest gets completely neglected. Also the government is not efficient enough to promote education. They in fact want the people to remain uneducated because if the masses become politically conscious then they will be able to understand the lazy, inefficient, indifferent, selfish & absolute corrupt nature of the government.
