  1. 2 feet.....

  2. RIGHT TURN:

    1. off the gas about 1/2 block from the corner, and make a right lane change about 2 houses from the corner.(shoulder check and signal of course before changing lanes.)

    2. gently brake to an appropriate speed (about 10 kph...but this depends upon the severity of the angle at the corner).

    3. look at a point about 3 ft out from the right corner curb.(this will prevent you from running over the curb with your rear wheel). YOUR HANDS FOLLOW YOUR EYES...that's how your brain works......walking, riding a bike, driving.....it works!

    4. coast around the corner without using your accelerator or brake (unless it's a hill), looking well ahead up the curb lane and enter the curb lane. Then signal left, shoulder check and when safe make a left lane change. (if there is a vehicle or other obstruction in the curb lane, then look to the left of the obstruction or vehicle and then you may enter the "left" lane when it is safe to do so.

Remember, it is understood that there are two lanes in each direction on every street ......the curb lane, for parking, and the left (or center) lane for driving.

When turning corners, steer as much as you NEED, but don't oversteer, and don't accelerate much at all on right turns. If you  do have to use the accelerator, then come off it again once you are moving. Remember to LOOK up your intended path of travel when steering around corners. Your hands follow your eyes......that's how your brain works! Practice this and it will eventually become quite easy. It is the safe way to make a right turn.

In short, when making turns, without stop or yield signs,  you first brake to an appropriate speed BEFORE entering the corner, coast around the corner, look up your intended path of travel and gently accelerate once you have straightened your steering. Race car drivers have mastered this skill at very high rates of speed. Watch the car-cam the next time you see a car racing program on t.v.

  3. If your in the UK then you need your right wheel within about a foot of the crown(middle) of the road. The States are different cos they drive on the wrong side of the road a bit like the froggies in France. Manouvering  is dependent on whether the turn is a 90 degree sharp turn (in which case you will have to ease forward before turning)  or an arc, about 2 ft(60 cm) should do both

  4. 2.54 metres...
