Assuming you are talking about the regular Parker Brothers Monopoly board game, there is only one type of hotel-- there isn't a distinguishment between "hotel" and "grand" hotel.  I just pulled my old Monopoly game (from 1997) out, and I don't see any reference to "grand hotel" in the game. However, perhaps it might help if you gave some specific context, like where in the game it refers to "grand hotels".  On a Community Chest or Chance card? The rulebook? On the hotel pieces themselves? The box?

At any rate, the normal game only distinguishes between houses and hotels-- there is no additional level of improvement for properties such as "grand hotels".
