  1. I always give double the tax.

  2. The least was zero for pretty shabby treatment (only once).  Other than that, I've tipped no less than 15%.  The most was about $50 for a $200 dinner.

  3. I've walked out without giving a tip before, when the service was awful, and/or we never received our food.  I've had some horror stories at restaurants, and truth be told...I am not a short tempered patron.  I worked in the back of the house for a few chain restaurants in the past, I know how it is to work off tips.  Tips are to be earned, not expected.

    So...

    Lowest - $0

Highest - $20 (have never picked up a bill over $100 I guess)

I won't tip more than 20% unless it's a rare occasion, or the server goes above & beyond (i.e. prepares the food/salad at the table, or is just genuinely entertaining).

I will typically round up to the next dollar anywhere between 15%-20%.

  4. I normanlly tip with in 17% to 22% of the bill depending

  5. Least tip would be about 10%,  The most was $100 tip on a $120 bill.

  6. The least amount I ever left was a $1 bill and I wrote "Get a personality!" on it.  The most I ever left was $50 on a $75.00 bill.

  7. least: 2 cents. poor service deserves no better.

most: about 50% of the tab. for excellent service, when the server goes out of the way.

    average:15-20%.

  8. it depends on the total of the bill and the service.  if it's a cheap bill [$5-$15] and the service was good, i'll leave a $5 or $6 tip.  if it's a larger bill and good service, i usually tip about 25% for good service.
