Preferably people with experience or who have seen real fights.

IN my experience people open up with a push followed by a big right.

Thanks

  1. Common attacks that I have seen include:

    push

    big right hand

    flurry of wild punches

clinch / grab / bear hug, usually leading to both guys on the ground

    headlock

    tackle

The defense to the big right is to keep your guard up and avoid it with good head and foot movement, then counter with punches or kicks when he overextends himself.  It is something that you can really only develop from regular sparring sessions in boxing or martial arts.  You could also drop down into a double leg if you are a grappler, but again it is something you would need to train for.

  2. yes commonly a shove or shirt grab, usually followed by a john wayne style wide right hook.  sometimes a charge or tackle may be involved. ive also seen a few strangles using the hands, and a couple headbutts even.   any MA instructor or even self  defense video will give you the tools you need, sorry i dont give specific technique advice

  3. haymaker

  4. First if you  feel if the situation is escalating you should probably get as close to him as you can so the big right only has a couple of inches to work with. I'm not sure if you can avoid the right but if you can I would punch the kid in the throat. I swear. Just punch the dude in the neck. He probably wont be able to breathe. But, He may die.

    Use with caution.

  5. The big right john wayne haymaker.

    The famous Glaswegian Headbutt

The classic kick to the balls.

There are many other variations in between to verbal distraction then striking you or faining no interest then striking or a friend talking to you as a peaceful distraction and the other guy attacking, I could go on but expect the unexpected and trust no one ,stay fully aware and keep your distance if possible.

    Best wishes :)***

  6. The attack you describe is common .

this site has done a study and lists the most common type of attacks

click on HAOV  or habitual acts of violence.

  7. Been in plenty, Usually like you said, a push followed by a hay maker.Usually fists or a big rush involving them trying to wrap thier arms around you to take you to the ground.Big guys especially love this method becuase they are slower and love to use thier size to try and  overwhelm you.

  8. Usually some sort of idiotic non-sensical verbal signal in Improper English.

    Example:

"Why you clownin' on my homeboys ..... dawg?"

  9. most start with a push or a grab.rushing at someone would be the second most common.theres many ways to counter a punch,to many to describe here.also every situation is different so noone could honestly answer this question unless there trying to big note themselves and pretend they have knowledge.

  10. Basiclly what the guy above said, usually starts with punches and a takedown. People usually just go crazy in street fights there really is no style.

  11. Consider that the fight began before the guy threw the punch. Then realize that the first thing that happened was he stood up straight, pushed his shoulders back, and puffed up his chest. This is called "posturing" and can be seen as a pre-incident indicator if you know what to look for. From here, you may have a chance to diffuse it by apologizing or walking away (what keeps you there is your ego). If not, unarmed are usually an outside roundhouse punch (often with a grab to keep you from moving away), or a tackle. I occasionally see a headbutt, but not very often (think of how close you have to let them get to you). One I see every once in a while from guys with either a little martial arts training or a lot of time spent watching Bruce Lee films is the side kick, usually poorly executed as a push-kick rather than a strike.

If you know anything, you know that you want to use the push to keep distance. If a guy pushes or shoves you, use the opportunity to make space and keep your hands in front of you. Thank him because he's given you the space to defend yourself. Don't worry about a push. Worry about a grab.
