  1. Redfern's a shocker i wouldn't go there.

  2. Hmm.. thats a hard one.. Since I grew up around Sydney, I'm used to it.. Its all about knowing how to keep safe. Like locking houses, and not walking around at night..

But I would say Mt Druitt, Bankstown, Redfern, Liverpool, Fairfield, Campbelltown, Lakemba

Hey, Cabramatta isnt bad, I grew up around there and had no problems at all.

Fairfield is getting pretty bad now.... Wetherill park is going down hill.. Especially at the Tway bus stops at Stocklands shopping centre, too many little kids hanging around there thinking they own the place.. and bashing people.

    South west sydney represent. LOL

  3. liverpool

    redfern

    bankstown

    parramatta

    blacktown

    mount druitt

    cabramatta

    bombaderry

  4. Bankstown is the worst of the lot. Everytime something happens they also always say south western sydney which is bankstown/punchbowl district.

  5. The worst suburbs in Sydney are:

Claymore, Airds, Macquarie Fields, Minto, Rosemeadow & Ambarvale in Campbelltown.

Bidwill, Willmot, Shalvey, Blackett, Lethbridge Park, Whalan, Tregear, Hebersham & Emerton in Mt Druitt.

Cranebrook, Kingswood Park, North St Marys, St Marys & Kingswood in Penrith

Doonside, Lalor Park, Toongabbie and Pendle Hill in Blacktown.

Villawood, Cabramatta, Guildford and Bonnyrigg in Fairfield.

South Granville, Telopea, Dundas, Auburn and Harris Park in Parramatta.

Miller, Sadleir, Cartwright and Ashcroft in Liverpool

Riverwood, Revesby, Punchbowl, Lakemba, Belmore, Birrong and Campsie in Bankstown

Redfern, Waterloo and Maroubra in the inner city.

    Bellambi and Berkeley in Wollongong

Windale, Toronto and Cessnock in Newcastle

The suburbs i mentioned in Mt Druitt and Campbelltown are probably the worst out of the Sydney suburbs but the others i mentioned were worth mentioning.

  6. Livo, blacktown, Auburn, Fairfield..

Cabramatta isnt too bad now.. my dads a cop and apparently the coppers their get no work..

Auburn and Blacktown are worst for the police..

my dads in auburn.. offt apparently its shocking..

  7. I live in Bankstown and I get offended when people believe the stereotypes about us. It may not be the safest place on the roads but it's not like one of those places where you will get shot when you leave your house. I've been living in this area all my life and never has anything negative occured in terms of our safety.

Cabramatta and the area around it (including Campbelltown) is somewhere I would like to go into a bit. In the past years, the area has been filled with drug addicts and trading. Up until recently, the issue has been tackled and controlled, making the area safer but still not as safe as other places. Campbelltown has been on the news lately with drug raids and seizures.

  8. I live in Kogarah, but once lived in Darlington (which is right on Redfern), and I tend to disagree with ALL of Redfern being on peoples lists.  I think that the area on the USYD side of the train station, is safe. I think the parts to avoid are the block (directly opposite train station and down in that area) and the middle of redfern..  The side near the uni and near broadway seem to be quite safe and populated most times, which could be the reason why it is safer.

Also, it depends how you classify safe. Many of the places people listed are places that you won't be shot, but you may be asked for money or cigarettes... and that could be as rough as it gets. And when all said and done, don't we get that behaviour everywhere?

If your after knowing where not to move in to... you can judge this quite well from rent prices. Aim for a median price, never the lowest... for paying peanuts will get you nothing but trouble.
