  1. Well there are many martial arts that encompass striking and grappling, and by efficient I assume you mean a martial art that will work in a real-life situation. Kajukenbo is a a great one for a mix of striking, grappling and self defence. Hapkido, Sambo and Eskrima/Kali are also good for a more complete fighting style.

But my number one pick would have to be Krav Maga. It really is a great hybrid martial art. It teaches striking and grappling. It also teaches weapon disarms and practical self-defense techniques. So it is a very complete fighting system

But the main reason I would emphasize it is because it doesn't just train you to fight, it emphasizes the fact that you never know what to expect, and that you could be fighting against one guy, three guys, opponents with weapons and everything in between.

  2. Krav maga all da way

  3. Simple: MMA(mixed martial arts) there is literally a style called MMA and academies/dojos/gyms that have this. =)

  4. You got it, KaJuKenBo

also Sambo, Krav Maga, Jeet Kune Do, Hapkido, Hwa Rang Do, San Shou (..ehh), Ninjitsu, Shootfighting
