  1. Not sure about the 8 regions... (see wikipedia)

    Grtest Lakes=Chicago

    Rockies=Denver

    Central plains=Houston or Dallas+ Ft Worth Atlantic plains=NYC

    Southwest=Mexico City

    Canadian shield= Montreal

    Alaska peninsula=Anchorage

    Florida and caribbean island=Miami+FtLauderdale

    Pacific Range=L.A.

    Atlanta, GA - Atlanta is located in the piedmont range of the Appalachian Higlands and has a metropolitan population of 5,138,223 according to the 2000 census.  Its one of seven American cities classified as Gamma world cities, and ranks third in the number of Fortune 500 companies headquartered within city boundaries.

    St. Louis, MO - Metro population of 2,801,033 in 2006 located on the divide between the interior plains and the Interior highlands.  If you want to classify it Interior PLain, Springfield, MO would then take its place.

    Intermontane Plateaus

    Las Vegas, NV - This is a tricky one to calss as cities such as Boise Idaho and Albuquerque also fall in this zone.  Las Vegas does have the largest economy and more prestige though.

    Rocky Mountain

    Salt Lake City, UT - On the border between Rocky Mountains and Interior Plateaus.  Second choce is Spokane, WA or Boise Idaho which also falls on teh physiographic border.

    Pacific Mountains

    Los Angeles, CA - Self explanatory.
