  1. For any stroke your shoulder muscles are extremely important, so I'd rank that first.

    Bisceps, quads, calves, triceps, and abs are all very important.  Swimming uses just about every muscle in your body so it's difficult to just choose a few!


  2. I'd say your lats (the muscles that go from your hip to your armpit). But also your abs and back muscles.

    The BEST exercise to do for swimming out of the pool is pull ups (palms facing away. Not to be confused with chin ups). This works forearm, biceps, triceps, and especially shoulders and lats.
