  1. There are so many prestigious schools in many domains....

    I was graduated in "la Sorbonne", so I could tell it's the most prestigious.... but not; There are many others.

    If you look for languages you'll be ddisappointed - better to go to Switzerland or Germany which provide the highest interprets and translators for Europe, mainly UNO and EU

  5. There are no prestigious or non-prestigious universities in France. They are public and state-funded so the level is more or less the same everywhere, with only minor differences. You can enter any French university you want as long as you have your "baccalauréat" (French high school diploma and passport to university).

    The prestigious schools are not universities but the Grandes Ecoles, some of which were listed by Mick_ose above. They are accessible through specific competitive exams. I could add to the list the École Normale Supérieure of Paris.
