What are the motorcycles that have more than the standard two wheels called?

I’m not well versed in this AT ALL, so are they bought that way or is it some kind of setup you buy??? Really need to know as I’m considering one of these for my work commute. A standard two-wheeled bike just isn’t my cup of tea.

the answer to your question is a trike. Now you can buy a trike or you can buy a motorcycle and put one of two trike conversion kits on the" two wheeled" motorcycle. One of the conversion kits will turn your motorcyle into a full blown 3 wheeled trike, the other will just add two side wheels to your motorcycle to give it the trike look and stability. Either way trikes aren't cheap. However if you decide to go with a trike the cheapest would be the kit that adds the side wheels, they are around $4k  here is a link

motorcycles are usually two-wheeled. I've heard there are some that you can put training wheels on like what you see in kids' bicycle.  It depends on what kind of motorcycle you got. check your dealer if you can put that on.  There are three-wheeled bikes called trike or tricycle. it could be a bike with three wheels or a bike with a sidecar.  another one is a quad or an atv which looks like a bike with four wheels, but I think quads are only for off-road use.

Boy, what a bunch of info and mis-info. First, there is the Voyager training wheel set... but to answer your question, there are trikes (three wheeled motorcycles, one wheel front) and reverse trikes which are gaining in popularity (2 wheels in front, one rear). We'll deal with trikes here which are all (cept one) kits that bolt on existing bikes. Brand names are TriKing, Motor trike, Calif. Side Car, Champion, Hannigan, Lehman (which Harley now owns a piece of), and more. The VW trikes are to legit trikes what choppers are to factory bikes. Any conversion will cost 10,000 to 15,000 dollars plus the bike you put it on. Some only go on big cruisers,others on smaller bikes. Cruise the web sites to learn more.
