What are the music theory basics?

i know a little bit og musi theory

i kno

intervals

most symbols

minor/major/dominant chords

flat/sharp

the abcdefg placement

chord construtcion

treble clef(im learning others)

chromatic scales

unisons,arpeggio

the beats and diffrent type of notes

im learning to tune guitar by ear and also gettign use to chords

what else do ineed??????????????

  1. When I took Music Theory and Harmony in College it was a 3 credit hour course and lasted the entire YEAR.  That's a bit more than I can tell you about in a one sentence reply.

    The other answers have the right answer... get the book and study, study, study.

    OH... and BUY A TUNER... if you plan to play with other people, you need a guitar that is actually TUNED before you tweak it to the other  instrumentss

    tons of stuff, more music theroy you learn, the better, they even have colleage courses for it, which I plan on taking.

    yeah, those are the basics, most guitar players hardly touch music theroy besides chord construction and scales, but you have hardly scratched the surface, there is lots more to learn.
