  1. 1) You need to be a women

    2) You need to have a man in your life

    3) Have intercourse and hope for the best ^^

  2. The must haves (in my opinion):

    The basics:

    Diapers

    Wipes

Bottles & formula (even if you're breastfeeding...you don't want to have a slow day and have no other way of feeding your child)

    Burp rags or wash clothes

    Baby soap/shampoo

    Baby lotion

    A crib, bassinet, or pack-and-play

    Blankets

A few soft onesies or pajama sets (if money is short, it's better to have warm things than cool. Baby can survive in a diaper if it's hot.)

    Pacifiers

    Tylenol

    Car seat

Diaper bag or tote of some kind

    The nice-to-haves:

    A baby monitor

    A changing table

    A bottle warmer

    A bottle drying rack

    Swing

    Bouncer

    Travel system

    Mobile

    A bottle brush

    I hope this helped!

  3. You need very little.  A place to sleep, clothes, diapers, food and a carseat.

  4. Car seat

    Pram

    Moses basket/crib/cot

    Blankets

    Nappies

    Baby wipes

    Bottles/formula/steraliser (if not breast feeding)

  5. Going through the same thing atm! I've narrowed the list down a bit:

    Buggy & car seat

somewhere for baby to sleep (carry cot or moses basket to start with, cot later on)

bouncy chair (I don't want one of the vibrating ones - but thats personal choice)

nappies etc (I'm going for reusables, but not sure which ones yet)

bottles, steriliser and breast pump (want to breast feed, but just in case - and dad can feed too!)

    clothes

cat nets (not every one needs these - but with 2 purring monsters about we do!)

sheets and blankets for moses basket and cot

play mat or gym of some description

I think thats about all the essentials for the new born - anything else can be bought as and when it's needed!!

  6. Medical Supplies

    · thermometer - I prefer digital thermometers over mercury ones.

    · infant ibuprofen, Tylenol, or both - You don't want to be running to the drugstore when your child is sick.

    · teething tablets - These are homeopathic and great for relieving teething pain. They can be found at Wal-mart.

    · nail clippers - the scissor kind is worthless, get small clippers that look like adult ones

    Changing Supplies

    · small changing pads

    · diapers - don't stock up on too many newborn diapers because most babies don't stay small for long. I love the pampers brand.

    · wipes - pampers sensitive baby wipes i find are the best

    · changing table or countoured changing pad and a cover that can sit on top of a dresser

    Bath Supplies

    · bath towel - buy two with hoods

    · bath toys - plus a plastic cup for rinsing and pouring

    · washcloths

    · baby soap and shampoo or body wash (i prefer aveeno, you can find it in the baby section... its really good for cradle cap and dry skin)

    · baby lotion

    · desitin

    · soft brush

    · infant bath tub or sling

Feeding Supplies · bottles - 1 or 2 are nice even if you plan on breastfeeding

    · binkie

    · burp clothes - need 4 to 6 or more if your baby has reflux

    · breast pads - actually for Mom.

    · formula

    · breast pump

you can wait until your baby is four months old before buying these items · plastic bibs - get a small one that fits the baby's neck

    · baby spoons - plastic coated ones are the best

    · baby food and cereal: (you wont need baby cereal until 4 months of age, and baby food at 6 months of age)

    · sippy cup - I like the ones with handles for first time drinkers

    Bring home from the hospital

    · alcohol pads

    · soft brush for scrubbing babies head while bathing - this prevents cradle-cap

    · nose aspirator

    Sleeping Essentials

    · crib

*I would get a breathable baby bumper instead of a regular bumper for the crib. with a breathable bumper it allows better air flow through the cib, reduces the chances of suffocation and sids.

    · receiving blankets - buy 4 to 6 because babies need to be wrapped up when they are first born

    · sheets - at least two for when your baby poops or throws up on one

    Car Basics

    · infant car seat

    · sun screen for the car window

    Clothing

    · clothes - don't buy too many you will receive a lot of 0-3 month clothes at your baby shower. If you get too many which you probably will take them back and buy a bigger size. Figure out how old your child will be the next time the season comes around and buy that size.

    · pajamas - buy lots of these, 4 to 6 pairs, because they are easy to change and keep your newborn warm

    · onesies

    · socks - keep those baby feet warm

    Toys and Board Books

    · teething rings

    · toys with bright colors and music

    · balls

    · blocks

    · rubber toys for chewing

    · soft toys for cuddling

    · board books - not paper

    Great extras

    · bounce chair -

    · swing - some children love these and some don't

    · baby carrier - I used to take mine to the grocery store and carry my baby in it so I had my hands free.

    · stroller - I used to take my son on walks for exercise.

    · bassinet - this is nice because you can keep the baby closer for the first month

    · rocking chair - babies love the rocking motion

  7. Lie-flat pushchair or old fashioned pram.

    Baby gym.

Disposable nappies (even if only when you go out somewhere).

Cotton wool (better than baby wipes).

    Steam steriliser (if bottle feeding).

    Bouncy chair.

  8. A bassinet that you can move from room to room, a good monitor, a vibrating bounce chair, a swing, baby bath and a wearable carrier. These are all essentials for the first few months, especially if your baby is colicky or needs to be near you constantly. Here are my recommendations for each of the above items.

Bassinet: Simplicity 4 In 1 Convertible Bassinet

Monitor: Fisher Price Sounds and Lights Monitor with 2 receivers

Chair: Fisher Price Infant to Toddler Rocker

Swing: Fisher-Price '08 Papasan Cradle Swing

Baby Bath: Fisher Price Rainforest Bath Center

Carrier: Infantino Front 2 Back Carrier

All of these items can be found on Babiesrus.com

One item that is not a neccessity but that I can live without is a carseat/stroller travel system. My favorite is: Baby Trend Shuttle Traveler. The car seat has one of the highest safety rating of any carseat and the stroller is great to use with the car seat and without. You can find this on Target.com. My son has outgrown the car seat but still loves the stroller.

  9. a womb

  10. There are very few things that you cannot do without. My biggest lifesaver though was the rainforest baby swing.  During the first 3 months it was the only way he would nap at all.  After six months it became obsolete so many would say it wasn't worth the money, but I feel like it was the best item we purchased.

  11. One of my best buys was a nappy wrapper! I used up until just after my sons 2nd birthday. The cartridges are expensive, but my house didn't stink of dirty nappies!
