In my family history, I have the surname Saigo in it. I know you generally don't do family history this way, but I would like to know the names of Takamori Saigo's (the famous samurai) wife and children. I would like to know their birth and death dates for them as well including the places.

This might be available on the web.  Just do a search on his name.  There are no records for him in Ancestry.com

There are also Saigos that are not from Japan.
